I took this photo thinking, “loneliness is a state of mind, happiness is a choice.”
This is exactly what it is. In the desert, in the vast expanse of nothingness, you can either be lonely or happy. Like that donkey. It might take him sometime in his usual strut before he sees another one of his kind. And life goes on, his carefree way.
A desert can be cruel, inhospitable, unfriendly even hostile. But it can be awesome, in the real sense, as in awe inspiring. A desert is a place where you can come in commune with God’s most wonderful creation.
And so is life – it can be cruel very often, and yes, this is the most wonderful gift that God has bestowed us with. Small miracle after small miracle everyday can make you look up to Him in awe. That smile, that hug, that kindness. You just have to choose to be happy to see all those miracles around you.
One doesn’t have to die to enjoy God’s promised treasures in heaven. Again, choose to be happy and enjoy God’s treasures in the here and now.
